Heartland Welcomes Two New Members to the Chorale

October 18, 2010 – Fort Wayne. The Heartland Chamber Chorale is joined by two new singers this season: alto Missy Aerts and tenor Tim Chronister.

Missy’s passion began in her Stillwater, Oklahoma high school choir, where a phenomenal choir director “sparked my passion for choral music.” A move with her husband, Jim, to Fort Wayne in 2000 led Missy to Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne where she pursued a degree in Music Education. Missy teaches music theory for the Fort Wayne Suzuki program and works part time at Dave’s Music Den. She is also a busy mom of 2 little ones, who love to play piano and sing alongside their mother. Missy is a member of professional music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, and sings as cantor and chorus member at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. When not singing Missy enjoys outdoor activities like camping, canoeing and bike riding. Missy is excited to be joining Heartland Chamber Chorale and said she can’t wait to sing “high level music that is challenging with beautiful harmonies.” Heartland welcomes the effervescent Missy to our group!

Tim began his musical journey in the third grade when he attended the Salvation Army Church. The church quickly involved him in their chorus and band. His experience in the church led him to pursue vocal and instrumental music in high school, where he sang in the choir and played cornet in the brass band. Tim attended Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana, and majored in vocal music performance. Tim sings in the Plymouth Congregational Church Choir. When he is not singing, Tim enjoys photography and needle art. He is eager to see the “interesting” repertoire the chorale delves into this season. Heartland welcomes Tim to the tenor section and the chorale!
