The Heartland Chamber Chorale (HCC), Fort Wayne’s premiere professional chorus, will be a featured group in Washington D.C. on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 6PM on the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The HCC presentation will be broadcast live, streaming on the Kennedy Center’s Website. Join them online at www.kennedy-center.org/millennium. The HCC will be presenting a program of American Music, which will include songs from Abraham Lincoln’s presidency (garnered from a unique music collection at the Indiana State Museum), songs in celebration of Valentine’s Day, and several Spirituals. Opera singer Kishna Davis will be our guest soloist. The Valentine’s Day performance is part of the Kennedy Center’s “Arts for Everyone” and “Millennium Stage” initiatives introduced in 1997 to offer free fine-arts performances at the Center 365 days a year. The Kennedy Center selects only the highest quality groups for this honor after screening audition tapes from countless submissions. The HCC is also working with Senator Lugar’s office to possibly sing at an additional locale in the D.C. area. The Heartland Chamber Chorale is excited to represent Northeast Indiana in the nation’s capital! |
